The Pearl John Steinbeck

The first edition of Steinbeck's classic in a first state jacket. The book has light wear to head and heel of spine with just a touch of fraying. There are 2 reddish-brown stains on the outer edge of text block, and a small black spot in the gutter by page 11. Small, neat signature of former owner in black fountain pen dated 1948 on front free endpaper, probably original owner. The dust jacket is a true first issue jacket with Steinbeck looking to his left towards the spine. Wear at spine, corners and edges, triangular tear repaired on front panel, several small tears repaired elsewhere, all repaired on rear of jacket with archival tissue. $2.00 price intact. Presents quite well in Brodart cover, photos are the best description.
