This amusing pictorial map was drawn by Sergio Aragonés Domenech in 1981 for publication in Mad. It displays the characteristic illustrative style of the magazine, as well as the humor. A proposed second arch by McDonald's fans in St. Louis, daydreaming truckers in Oklahoma and a car factory gone awry in Detroit are just a few of the adventures to be discovered within the image. Even the figures above the title are a satirical commentary on America's diversity and often competing attitudes. The fun continues on the verso, which features inset maps of New York, Los Angeles, Alaska and Hawaii - also created by Aragones using the same cartoonish form.
