Translated by Constance Garnett. 16mo. xii, 975pp. Toledano style 5.1 brown balloon cloth with the short-lived front gilt-stamped Kent torch-bearer image stamped on the front cover. Contemporary owner name neatly penned and blind-stamped on front fly and title page, spine ends lightly bumped, near fine in a very good lightly soiled dust jacket with short tears on extremities. Dust jacket is Toledano "style d" and lists 159 titles mentioned on back panel and listed internally with a price of "95 cents" on the front flap. Due to the expensive cost of the added gold leaf on the front cover this design was only manufactured from April, 1929 to possibly May, 1930 before switching the design to a blind-stamped front cover.
