Octavo. 75 pages. Burgundy cloth hardcover with gilt borders and title on the front cover. Edge and shelf wear to cloth binding and some fading to the covers. Upper corners bumped. Title page and rear end sheet are foxed. Title page has no date of publication however the date of 1912 is printed under the author's epitaph page 75. Association Copy: pasted down on the front end paper is a hand written poem on a blank card titled "Christmas Wishes - 1911." The poem is for "Prof & Mrs Jos T. Derry and theirs" and is inscribed "Fondly yours F H Orme." Another inscription on the front blank end paper preceding the title page reads - "To Mrs Jos. T. (Lizzie) Derry - a cousin who has been very dear to me from her early childhood on her Golden Wedding Day, Aug 5, 1912. J. H. Orme. p.46." On page 46 is a poem titled "To Cousin L-----D----". Joseph T. Derry, 1841-1926, was a Confederate war veteran, teacher, and author of the Story of the Confederate States and other books. His wife was Elizabeth Osborne Derry. The author, Dr. Francis Hodgson Orme (1834-1913), was a prominent Physician in Atlanta. He was elected president of the American Institute of Homeopathy in 1886.
