Hardcover; folio; two volume set. The illustrated family Bible with John Brown's annotations, in two volumes (volume 1 published in 1840, and volume 2 published in 1837) bound in matching leather. Full leather bindings, with five raised bands on spine, gilt titles. Gilt device of a Queen (Victoria, perhaps?) wielding an orb and sceptre, flanked by two attendants on the front and back of each volume, with gilt and blind borders also. Moderate wear/rubbing to the edges. Marbled endpapers clean. Some smudging on reverse of vol 2's bfep. A.e.g. Bright and clean interiors.
