An Ice Cream War, William Boyd, Hamish Hamilton, 1982, First Edition, First Impression Nominated for a Booker Prize in the year of its publication, this story focuses on the East African Campaign fought between British and German forces during World War I and how the conflict affects several people whose paths converge. In very good condition, the binding is straight and tight, the boards clean apart from some marks to the first cover and the lettering on the spine bright. There is a crease to the bottom corner of the back board and minimal shelf wear to the top and bottom edges of the spine. The end papers and pages are free from tears and inscriptions. There are marks to the front and back end papers and the fore and bottom edges. The clipped dust jacket, protected in a clear, removable cover is in very good condition with slight loss to the bottom corner of the front cover, crease marks to the top edge of the spine and marks to the back cover. Will be dispatched carefully wrapped in bubblewrap and a cardboard box.
