With the green dust-jacket showing a white bow to the spine, and a second black and white photographic jacket on top, showing stills from Joseph Strick's 1967 film. Both priced at 30s. A black ink ownership to the fly-leaf, and minor toning to edges and endpapers, otherwise crisp and clean internally. Jackets show light wear to edges, and there is light general wear and some minor toning and staining to the spine of the photographic jacket. The green jacket below is crisp and remarkably clean and bright. Very good. This experimentalist novel, retelling Homer's 'Odyssey' in a contemporary setting within the course of a single day, introduced Joyce's now infamous use of complex stream-of-consciousness interior monologues. Love or loathe it, 'Ulysses' has been described as the most important novel in the English language. First published in 1922, the novel went through several editions, creating new errors in the text as the original printing mistakes were corrected.
