Humourous as Orr is, the cover features a magically smiling dame in red cap and black peaked hat, cane in hand and finger pointed, with funny cross and cloud in b.g. Spine features a version of Pan the flute player in subdued blue and red. Deckled leaves generally good; few w/some smudge, discoloration. Lightly pencilled inscription at half-title page: "To George with best love from Edwin, Christmas 1918." Bind good, square; hinges intact. Matte grey pictorial endpapers with delightful spread at front and back of the flute player and child sitting in grass. Features an enchanting collection of forty-three classic tales by the Brothers Grimm. Illustrated by Scottish artist Monro Scott Orr, including two-dozen full colour plates. Also, several partial page designs and vignettes, also by Orr. Near good wonderfully enjoyable rarity.
