Proper title "A Bill to Carry into Execution a Treaty made Between His Majesty and the King of Spain, for the Preventing Traffic in Slaves" and on verso of terminal leaf "Ordered, by the House of Commons, to be printed, 9 April 1818". Folio size (13 inches tall), pp. 17, (18) (additionally numbered in manuscript 315-332), printed on chain marked rag paper having both the Royal watermark and the counter mark "I S / 1811" ; left edge w. tiny nips from being disbound, else Fine. In this agreement, Britain agrees to pay Spain "the said sum of Four hundred thousand Pounds sterling, is to be considered as a full compensation for all losses sustained by the subjects of his Catholic Majesty engaged in this traffic, on account of vessels captured previously to the exchange of the Ratification of the said Treaty, as also for the losses which are a necessary consequence of the abolition of the said traffic"
