Hardcover with slipcase box, published by Folio Society, 2008. First published in 1985, this is the first Folio Society edition. Set in 18th century France, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille is a genius perfumer, whose sense of smell gets leads to murder. This edition follows the text of the first British edition, as translated by John E. Woods. The outer slipcase is intact and has no marks or writing, all corners are intact. 235 pages, 6" X 9". Cover design by Neil Packer. Decorative map illustration on the endpapers. Illustrated cloth covered hardcover boards, with the title on the spine in red. Slight bit of rubbing wear to the gold highlights of the front cover illustration. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Edges of the text block are clean.
