First editions, containing two entries by Churchill - "The Last Days of Marlborough" in issue 1 and "Subaltern's Reading" in issue 113, taken from his biography Marlborough and My Early Life respectively. The set is from the collection of Churchill's bibliographer Ronald Cohen. The Times Broadsheets were first issued in the First World War, aimed at soldiers, and provided great passages of English literature in a portable form. The broadsheets were re-established in the Second World War, issued in 33 monthly numbers from November 1943 to August 1946, and distributed free to soldiers. This set runs from the first number to the 18th. Provenance: Ronald Cohen, with his ownership inscription in pencil on the front wrapper of the first part. Cohen's Bibliography of the Writings of Sir Winston Churchill, published in three volumes in 2006, is the authoritative source for collectors, librarians, and dealers.
