Providence, in New-England: William Goddard, 1763. First Edition. Octavo; removed; 44pp. (lacking half title and final blank, otherwise collated complete); decorative initials and head- and tail-pieces. Stitching mostly perished, margins rather chipped and worn though with no loss of text, textblock heavily dampstained; a Good copy only. One of the earliest Providence imprints by the city's first press, established a year earlier in 1762. By September, 1763, two months before this pamphlet appeared, William Goddard had even been granted free access to the holdings at the Library Company of Providence for "introducing and carrying on amongst us the ingenious and noble Business of Printing."
