Cassell & Co. was the preeminent Victorian-era publisher of illustrated books and periodicals in all fields--travel, art, literature, sport, natural history, children's works, gift books, religion, etc. It issued multi-volume "Libraries" and diaries for many uses (chapel register, poultry keeping, family washing, etc.). Here is firsthand documentation of how it recorded and advertised this output. Scarce: a few earlier editions are in WorldCat, but not this one.
