Red cloth with gilt decorations. Heavy wear to boards and spine. Soil, staining to boards, liquid marks. Edge and cloth wear; heavy bump, tearing to fore edges of both boards. Spine faded, titles not legible. Spine tips/joints with wear to cloth, creasing, tearing. All corners rubbed; bottom corners bumped, more heavily to the front bottom where fore edge damage was noted. In pencil, "First English Ed." to top of ffep. Foxing to decorated endpapers/pastedowns. Toning to Half Title Page and last page 103 verso. Tanning throughout but mostly very good, with incidental soil. Binding solid. Gilt to top textblock. Shelf 10c.
