The Christy's Minstrels Song Book - Volume Iii

This is a Civil War era songbook, "The Christy's Minstrels Song Book" - Volume III. Circa 1860's (the book is undated, but contains a section dedicated to "The American War"); Boosey & Co.; London. There are 60 songs in all "with choruses and pianoforte accompaniments." Aside from the minstrel music, there is a section of Civil War songs titled "Selection of the Most Famous Songs Connected with The American War" - songs include "We Are Coming Father Abra'am," "Weeping, Sad and Lonely - When this Cruel War is Over," "Glory, Hallelujah!," "Stand Up for Uncle Sam, My Boys!," "The Battle Cry of Freedom," "Maryland, My Maryland!," "The Bonnie Blue Flag," "It is My Country's Call," and more. Condition: Soiling to the covers; the front cover has 3 white paint stain spots. Cloth tears at the cover corners, at the top and bottom edges of the spine, and along the left and right edges of the spine. The front end paper has been removed. Occasional stains and smudges to the pages, primarily at the lower-outer corners. The binding has cracked at the center, resulting in the cluster of pages before and after the crack being loose/shaky (though still attached). The rear end papers is tanned. Both covers are loose/shaky and have pulled from the spine. Overall the book is in Fair condition only.
