Albert Speer (1905-1981) was a German architect and served as the Minister of Armaments and War Production for the Third Reich during World War II. Known for his close association with Adolf Hitler, Speer was often referred to as "Hitler's architect" and was responsible for the design of the Reich Chancellery and the Nuremberg rally grounds. During the Nuremberg Trials, Speer was convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity, notably for his use of forced labor in armaments production, and was sentenced to 20 years in prison. Following his release, he authored several books, including "Inside the Third Reich" and "Spandau: The Secret Diaries," providing a detailed account of his experiences, the workings of the Nazi leadership, and his reflections on his role and actions during the war.
