Original Vintage Chinese Propaganda Poster, 1997. 52.5cm x 76cm. Condition Grade: A, Fine. Unbacked. The transfer of sovereignty over Hong Kong from the United Kingdom to China, referred to as "the Handover", took place on 1 July 1997, and marked the end of British rule in Hong Kong. From 1980, Deng led the expansion of the economy and in political terms, took over negotiations with the United Kingdom to return the territory of Hong Kong, meeting personally with British prime minister Margaret Thatcher.
