The front hinge is just starting at the headcap, and there is some cracking at the bottom three inches on the rear hinge. Pale spotting to the outside edges of the text block. Engraved portrait frontis. A sound copy Some foxing to the endpapers; the text is generally clean. Although not mentioned in the book itself, Howes "U.S.iana" (S-91) suggests this work was edited by Robert C Sands. The listing notes the pagination of 556 pages with an errata; we see no errata in this volume and no material appears missing.
