A broadsheet newspaper article on newsprint, mounted on foam board with an attached mat, now displayed behind glass in a removable metal frame (visible image size 555 × 385 mm, external dimensions 695 × 515 mm). Light crease across the centre of the sheet; acidic newsprint uniformly tanned; in excellent condition. This is the front page of a '4-page Special Tour Lift-out' published by the national newspaper 'The Australian' on Saturday 23 March 1995, two days before the 'first live Australian appearance' of the Rolling Stones. The article by Glenn A. Baker is upstaged by the superb group portrait by Bill Leak, which takes up more than half the page. The colour illustration is signed with a black felt-tipped pen by Mick Jagger, and with a blue ballpoint pen by Charlie Watts and Keith Richards. Provenance: the personal collection of David Lovatt, proprietor of Bank Street Records, Adelaide (1985-1994). The autographs were obtained for him backstage at Football Park in Adelaide, by the manager of the contract cleaning company for the venue (who was also a good customer of Bank Street Records).
