Possible First edition from England (NAP, 1933 on the title page, no date on the copyright page). Alfred Knopf published the first American edition in 1926. Once listed, this will be the Only non-library copy for sale on the Internet from either George Routledge or Alfred Knopf. There is one library copy for sale that doesn't give any information as to publisher or date of publication. So this book is that rare. You can see the covers in the photos. They are pretty clean, no conspicuous soiling. The gilt lettering on the spine is nicely bright. There are a few little puffy areas on the front. There is light wear at the spine ends, a tiny bit of rub-through at both. The cover edges look good. The cover corners have a little bit of crinkling, a tiny spot of rub-through at the front top one. The book is pretty solidly bound. I found only two instances within the text of a very thin space between facing pages. All four pages are tightly bound from top to bottom. There is a short, thin tear at the bottom edge of the juncture of both the front end paper and the half-title page. There is a thin space at the juncture between the verso of the half-title page and the title page with a little bit of webbing showing off the top edge of the juncture. The juncture between the rear cover and rear end paper has a thin space over the bottom third with a little bit of webbing showing, all the paper there is present. Both covers are solidly bound. The pages are, in the main, very clean. I saw two instances of a handful of pages with a tan spot or two at their white margin. There is a light crease above the bottom corners of most of the pages, far from the print. I also saw a half-dozen or so consecutive pages with a tiny crease below the tips of their top corners, no losses. There are tan rectangular shadow shapes on both blank end papers, perfectly smooth. There are no markings in the book. There are no attachments of any kind. There are three small numbers off the bottom edge of the rear side of the rear end paper, no idea what they signify. I didn't see any other writing anywhere in the book.
