The book is firmly bound in fairly contemporary mid-19th century dark green half-calf, decorated in gilt with red title label, marbled boards, matching marbling to all edges of the text block and marbled endpapers, the binding by W. Townsend & Son of Sheffield. The book is firmly bound, the leather is lightly rubbed with a few small chips, the boards are also slightly rubbed with minor paper loss at the edges. The text block is slightly foxed and toned, the plates considerably more so, with the armorial bookplate of Mann of Dunmoyle to the front pastedown and a neatly written name in ink to the reverse of the frontispiece.
