Single octavo leaf folded in half and written on the first page only. Old fold from mailing, else about fine. In full: "Dear Mr. King - I was unable to get one of the pictures promised but as I thought you might have special means of making a proof. I sent the negative, it is 'The Two Disciples at Emmans' and was bought by the French Government in 1906 - The other is 'Behold the Bridegroom Cometh'. Believe me Very Truly, H. O. Tanner. 14 W 22." Tanner was appointed Chevalier of the Legion of Honor in France in 1923. His works, often on religious themes hang at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The National Gallery of Art, and The White House. His letters are very uncommon.
