Dust jacket exhibits the most wear: moderate loss at top corner of front cover & small loss at tail of spine. Moderate foxing and soiling to dust jacket, especially front cover. Off-setting on dust jacket's front cover in the shape of a square, as if a piece of paper was laying on top of book. Two instances of age-staining on rear hinge of dust jacket's spine. General scuffing to edges of dust jacket, however, jacket remains intact and legible. Dark red cloth boards scuffed at edges and worn at corners. Top corner of front board bumped. Head and tail of spine bumped. Gilt lettering bright and clean. All edges of text-block exhibit foxing, especially top edge. Fore-edge deckled. Off-setting on front and rear paste-downs and end-pages from jacket flaps. Normal age-related toning throughout text-block. Binding intact. Please see photos. Alexander Harvey's (1868-1949) scarce work of short stories, with original dust jacket. Published by Mitchell Kennerley (1878-1950), an English born American publisher, editor, and gallery owner. Kennerley used typesetter Frederic W. Goudy (1865-1947) for his books, and advanced him money to complete one of his first successful fonts, which Goudy named Kennerley Old Style as a dedication. He was a dealer in and published the work of Oscar Wilde and Walt Whitman. In 1913, he was arrested, for sending an "obscene" book through the mail. First Edition, with Original Dust Jacket.
