Lowther was the first writer other than co-creator Jerry Siegel to get a Superman writing credit. Lowther extends the Superman back story, renaming Superman's Krytonian parents Jor-El and Lara, and fleshes out "the worlds of Superman's parents on Krypton and his foster parents on Earth .
