Encelade is inspired by the discovery of Enceladus (written Encelade in French), a natural satellite of Saturn, discovered in 1789. This planet, covered with snow, ice and fresh water but with a heated inner core, gives rise to the idea that one day Enceladus could be covered with green jungle offering a new future, a new planet, a new universe. ENCELADE is also inspired by the mythological figure of Enceladus, son of Gaia (the Earth) and Uranus (the Sky), whose strength and power was overthrown by Athena, worshipped Goddess of Wisdom and War. Legend has it that Encelade is buried under the lands of Sicily and that it still breathes through the fumes and eruptions of the Etna volcano.
