While the title page states 1897, this is the 4th Modern Library edition of this title with the earliest printing, based on its DJ design, to be 1978. $6.95 price intact on DJ flap. Book and DJ are fine. Book is extremely tight and clean with four sharp corners. Panels, pages and endpapers are all bright and clean. Book is nearly pristine with just one minor flaw; there is a touch of excess manufacturer's glue at head of spine next to sewn binding. It is a tiny amount and of zero consequence, but noted as it is the only thing keeping this from pristine condition. Truth be told, a little patience and a fingernail would make this disappear if you so choose. An extremely nice, bright and clean copy; both book and DJ.
