Cracks in the hinge beside each board, particuarly to the front board of volume 1. Volume 1 has a few looser sections of binding but no pages are loose, and volume 2's textblock binding is sound. The internal contents are in Good condition with only a tan to the outer edges and occasional dust. The main body of text is largely clear, bright and unfaded. A good pair of reading and reference copies. Between the two volumes, 158 original papers are included which were nearly all originally published between 1851 and 1860.
