Signed by both author and illustrator to the title page. Illustrated with fifty-two colour reproductions of the paintings of highly regarded New Zealand landscape artist Jonathan White. Accompanied by the text of New Zealand historian and outdoorsman John Hall-Jones, this especially attractive work brings together White's paintings over the course of almost a decade. Depicting the beautiful scenery of south-west Fiordland, together, the text and images provide a remarkable glimpse into one of New Zealand's most stunning wilderness areas. Externally, very smart with minor shelf wear and light marking. Dust wrapper features equally minor shelf wear, with slight loss to the extremities, most visible to the spine head, tail and tips, with faint, scattered marking. Slipcase is noticeably more worn, with stronger marking and moderate loss of paper to the edges. Internally, firmly bound.
