Size: Frame 60 x 80 cm, print inside mount 329.5 x 59.5 cm Condition: Print in excellent condition, colours fresh although the artist's signature and title have faded. Good used mount and frame. This is a very fine print in vibrant colours using an open window and balcony to frame a view on the Greek island of Lemnos. Hogan studied and exhibited in Athens in the early 1970's, but we believe this print dates to about 1980, judging from the provenance and frame supplied. The artist Eileen Hogan has signed and titled the print in an ink prone to fading, and it has been numbered one of 30 proofs in a different, non-fading ink. The print was in the Derbyshire Museums Loan Service and the frame was provided by that service. The reverse of the frame has labels as appropriate. Eileen Hogan (born 1946) is a painter, designer, printmaker, illustrator and teacher of international renown. She was born in London and studied at Camberwell School of Arts, Royal Academy Schools, the British School of Archaeology at Athens, and the Royal College of Art (under Carel Weight). She is Professor at the University of the Arts London, a Trustee of the Royal Drawing School and an Ambassador for the Salvesen Mindroom Centre, a Scottish charity which is a centre of excellence in neurodiversity. She has exhibited very widely and her work is shown in numerous major collections.
