First appearance of Heros Von Borcke's colorful memoir of his experiences in the Army of the Confederate States,as General J. E. B. Stuart's Chief of Staff. 2 volumes of bound Volume 98 (July-December 1865) and Volume 99 (January-June 1866). Very good overall condition; 2 matching volumes, never separated from each other. 3/4 leather bindings with gilt raised bands and spine labels. There is some loss to the title labels; Tight bindings, some very light foxing in a few places, overall clean. Does not look like these volumes were ever read.
