Blue straight-grained morocco with elaborate boarders in gilt and blind, spine lettering in gilt with ornamented gilt panels, raised band. Gilt dentelles on outer edges of boards and inside edges of paste-downs. Hassell's views of the newly constructed Grand Junction canal, dedicated "To the Noblemen and Gentlemen, Proprietors of the Grand Junction Canal." The 1790's-1810's marked the period of "canal mania" in Britain. Bookplates of W. S. Adams. Rubbing along joints and edges; a few hints of foxing, mild offsetting of plates.
