A deluxe, complete half leather four-volume set presenting the plays of William Shakespeare. Published by reprint publisher A. L. Burt, and likely rebound in a very handsome binding by an unspecified binder. Each volume with an engraved frontis illustration, no other illustrations are present. The text is borrowed from an earlier edition by Rev. Alexander Dyce, and though the title page promises an arrangement of Dyce's glossary, there is no glossary. Undated, but possibly published c.1880s-1910s. --- Beautifully bound in tan half calf, with titling and decorations in gilt to spine and on maroon spine blocks. With green and gold marbled paper-covered boards and matching endpapers; TEG (top edges gilt). Unpaginated. --- An exceptionally well-preserved copy: bright and tightly-bound, though with minor scuffing to leather at extremities and a small tear to the front free endpaper of vol. IV.
