[Cuba] Archive depicting farming life and locations in Cuba from Pre-Castro era, in the early 1900s. Archive contains 4 black and white riginal silver gelatin photographs, measuring 7.5" x 10" to 4.75" x 6.75". All photos have captions and are pasted to black mattes. Photos range from depictions of oxen tilling soil in a tropical farmland including workers on wagons with wooden wheels and family members standing outside in white dresses, watching the men work from a straw house surrounded by palm trees. Other photos include a landscape shot of Morro Castle which guards the barrow entrance to Havana Harbor. One depicts a group of six children standing atop an ox cart with two oxen pulling the front. The background features hemp fields and three adult workers are in the forefront, along with two dogs. A photo also depicts a worker standing in front of a large tobacco crop with stretches of cheese cloth protecting the plants. In the background are massive palm trees and various huts. Photos offer a unique glimpse of Cuba in the pre-Castro era and the various work lives of native people. All photos are in very good condition.
