In the Opening Address on October 21, Dean Ke Chen welcomes the overseas Chinese representatives, expresses regrets that they cannot gather in Nanking, but celebrates this unprecented meeting of the global Chinese community in Taiwan. He encourages these leaders of the Overseas Chinese communities in their support for the anti-communist, anti-Japanese and anti-russian policy of the Nationalist Chinese. In one of the later speeches, the goal of the Conference is described thus: "We must unite overseas Chinese around the world. No matter where they are, if we want to thoroughly deal with and eliminate the traitors [Communist Chinese], we must unite and concentrate our anti-communist forces, so that we can contain them and succeed. The communist bandits are afraid of organized actions and unified will of our Overseas Chinese, so they have always been among them to threaten, to provoke and to divide the center. If we want to smash the conspiracy, we must unite and struggle, work together and go further to unite all overseas Chinese in the region to exert the spirit and to save all overseas Chinese across the five continents. This Overseas Chinese Affairs Conference will be the beginning of uniting the 8 million Chinese soldiers and civilians in Taiwan with the 12 million overseas Chinese to become a most powerful pillar in the fight against the Communist Party. " On the last page of this lengthy report is an "Addendum" recognizing some generous financial support for the Nationalist cause: "During the Overseas Chinese Affairs Conference, in addition to pledging donations / on the spot, the representatives of the Chaozhou / clan in Thailand continued to donate NT$100, 000 to the military, 30, 000 yuan to the Dachen garrison, / 30, 000 yuan to the Kinmen garrison, and three 10, 000 yuan to comfort the guerillas in eastern Guangdong, and 10, 000 yuan to compensate Huang Song, a guerilla in the South China Sea. ." .; Oriental Studies, Political Science, Most Recent Listing
